Hello people ,
A very debatable topic of this time is “Internet of things” which is making its way in Computer & network Industry. With almost everything we use has Operating system , so the question arise is that , Can’t we make all of them connected ?

Surely !! Yes we can ,The answer is Internet of Things. So what is actually that defines this Internet of things- “If all objects and people in daily life were equipped with radio tags, they could be identified and inventoried by computers. However, unique identification of things may be achieved through other means such as bar-codes or 2D-codes as well.”

More objects are becoming embedded with sensors and gaining the ability to communicate. The resulting information networks promise to create new business models, improve business processes, and reduce costs and risks.

Many Tech Giants are working on this technology – IBM & CISCO, the idea is quite clear making your life more simpler & better.

“CISCO PREVISION: In 2008, number of things connected to the internet is more than the people living on Earth.
In 2020, there will be around 50 billion devices connected with Internet.”

Internet Of Things Application :

  • Traffic Mangement
  • Heath Care
  • Secuity

For example in Singapore, the government is building a connected traffic management system, complete with sliding-scale road tolls based on time of day and traffic density. To do this, all vehicles are mandated to be equipped with tracking devices.

Whatever its practical scope, you could say that Internet of Things is included in the vision of a Smarter Planet. After all, the core of Smarter Planet is the notion that every endpoint is instrumented, intelligent and interconnected, and that they play together to continuously achieve various desirable outcomes.

Various cities have kitted out their transport networks with sensors that broadcast the position of buses, trams and trains and make this data available to the public on their smart devices.

Then there are the emerging applications aimed at everyday life. Ninja Blocks is an Australian start up that is developing the technology that allows anybody to monitor and control their homes remotely over the internet through smart devices.

In Singapore, the government is building a connected traffic management system, complete with sliding-scale road tolls based on time of day and traffic density. To do this, all vehicles are mandated to be equipped with tracking devices.
